Dining at King and Queen

King and Queen is lucky to have nine food and beverage establishments for our guests to enjoy in the West End Precinct. These award winning co-owned restaurants, bars and cafes are located in and around the hotel and provide the option for our guests to order room service or charge back from the restaurant straight onto their room account.

Social Kitchen:

Social Kitchen is one of the newest restaurants here in New Plymouth and it has quickly established a loyal following of foodies.

The restaurants prides themselves on offering high quality food from their shared dining menu. Choose from a range of small plates which include the must-try Zany Zeus halloumi and blue cheese gnocchi. If you are after high quality proteins their large plates are perfect with options such as Wairapapa lamb rack or Waikato angus eye fillet.

It is popular for its laid-back atmosphere which makes it a great spot to meet up with a group of friends, have a casual business meeting or celebrate a special occasion.

Meat & Liquor Steakhouse:

Meat & Liquor Steakhouse is New Plymouth's home for prime cuts of meat. Our prime cuts have been selected by our team of chefs from farms which have been carefully considered for their agriculture practice.

Our chefs have hand picked our best cuts to dry age to enhance tenderness and intensity of flavour.

Our menu is honest and product driven, show casing the best of locally sourced and seasonal ingredients

 

Monica’s Eatery:

Monica’s Eatery is an environment inspired by the life and spirit of Monica Brewster. Highly respected by the local community, Monica was progressive for her time, innovative, creative and generous.

Modern cafe/restaurant conveniently located across the road from King and Queen.

Itch Wine Bar:


We offer a bespoke wine and cocktail experience located in New Plymouth’s vibrant West End Precinct.

Handpicked wines and spirits, beautiful cheese and cured meats selected by us for you.

We highly recommend the Espresso Martini!

Frederic's

Located just a 2 minute walk from the hotel, Frederic’s warm atmosphere is great for a casual lunch or dinner. 

The menu puts a modern twist on classic kiwi bar food, such as the ever-popular beef schnitzel accompanied by warm potato & bacon salad with house-made slaw.

They have a bar area in the front which is perfect for drinks and nibbles and the restaurant upstairs is great for a full dining experience. Their warm and friendly staff will make you feel right at home.

Snug Lounge:

Located just around the corner from the hotel, Snug Lounge is a Japanese inspired restaurant. 

They also have an extensive cocktail menu which can be enjoyed in their plush lounge or out in the courtyard.

Pop in for a drink before a show or concert or spend the evening there with family and friends. A must try is the pulled pork dumplings!

Ms White's Pizza:

Authentic Italian Wood fired Pizza’s and over 40 craft beers to choose from.

New Zealand’s best craft beer on tap – Handpicked by us. Taps will rotate weekly .See the staff for their ever changing list.

Ozone Coffee Roasters:

Located in the courtyard of the hotel, the Bean Store is perfect for your morning coffee. They roast and grind all of their fair trade beans on site and brew it to perfection. 

They have a range of croissants, rolls, tarts and scones which you can enjoy with your coffee or take away.

Also new to the Bean Store is their small range of breakfast offerings including granola, avocado on toast, a bacon and egg muffin and an European inspired breakfast plate. 

Public Catering Company:

The Public Catering Company is an artisan provider of catering, bakery goods, breads and gelato.

Located across in the White Hart courtyard their doughnuts are a must try when in the Precinct.
